Health & Human Services Dept. is making available $1.2 million to fund 20 awards averaging $85,000 each to provide essential health services to frail and elderly residents living in rural areas. The deadline is Sept. 14.
The goals of the Network Planning Grant Program are to (1) achieve efficiencies in rural health, (2) expand access to coordinate and improve the quality of essential healthcare services, and (3) strengthen the rural healthcare system as a whole.
The program supports one year of planning activities that assist rural entities in the development of an integrated healthcare network if the proposed participants in the network do not have a history of collaborative efforts and a 3-year grant would be inappropriate.
